| Comments: | This is a tag I've written upon request for Rhett Roberts. The piece, "I'll Sing a Soft Song", is based upon the premise of setting haiku for a vocal ensemble (something I've wanted to do for some time). Rhett jumped on the idea and together we began brainstorming text ideas (after I found one in Japanese we agreed didn't work haha). After a short time, we both had come up with somethings, and I kind of married a few of our ideas to create something that we both were excited about. The piece itself will present a complacent dialogue in three sections (each focusing on a single line of the haiku), obsessing over a few words in the haiku, the full text only emerging at moments of transcendent clarity. Here you'll find only the tag, but you can soon expect to hear the full piece, performed by Rhett, in the near future! Look forward to it (I certainly am!)! |
