Comments: | Lyric background story: When I was strolling the grounds between classes at Harmony University 2014, I saw a squirrel scampering quickly toward an area with a beautiful marble statue surrounded by roses. Just as the squirrel got to the rose bush, it abruptly came screeching to a halt, dead in its tracks. Then it appeared to rethink its plan about jumping into the thorns, and it meekly retreated from its original route. It got me thinking about thorns, and how being dull in life doesn't protect the beauty you hold dear. You must stay sharp to protect what you love. |
