Comments: | The Lead sings the straight melody through to a 6-measure post. The Tenor goes below the lead on the last three measures. No belting allowed! This is actually a Bob Jones arrangement. (He was the baritone of The Most Happy Fellows until December 1976.) Jack Lyon became the baritone on January 1, 1977 joining Bob Hodge (tenor), Larry Hassler (lead) and Ken Hawkinson (bass). While Lloyd Steinkamp was not the arranger of "Alice Blue Gown", he arranged many songs for barbershop quartets (including for The Most Happy Fellows, aka The Haps). As coach & mentor, Lloyd helped The Haps prepare for the 1977 International Competition in Philadelphia, PA where they were awarded 1st-place gold medals. |
