Comments: | Here is a tag to use when recruiting. Believing that an important goal of communication is to meet people where they are, and striving to be ever more approachable, and Observing that tag learning requires a potential new singer to learn something that has already been written versus something that comes from within, I have "written" a tag (it's really just a standard barbershop tag ending), dubbed "Cuttlefish" for its intended adaptability (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhYD-ylPAZo), in 3 different voicings. Suggested method: 1. The tag-teaching trio will ask the guest to choose any three syllables or words. 2. Ask the guest to sing those 4 syllables. 3. Trio listens to the pitch that the guest uses and decides which voicing to use and fills in the chords above around the guest. The guest is invited to play with the rhythm/length of any of the notes. Note: the only thought behind the key signature is that it's our beloved B-flat. In practice, the trio will neither blow a pitch on the pipe nor ask the guest to sing a different note. |
